Chapter 948: The Abyss.(2)

The smile faded from Sabrina’s eyes the moment she realized her location.

“What terrible luck…”

She muttered, looking at the medallion. It displayed her location on a blue screen, Sabrina was currently in the middle of Envy and Pride, The two strongest cities of the Abyssal layer 555.

Envy, the city where the Martial Star rose to prominence, and Pride, where he had built his castle and where most of his personal army resided. The two cities were a problem, a major problem.

Envy was currently ruled by a Demonic Duke, An SSS-ranked demon that was known to be especially potent at magic, and the closest advisor to the Martial star now that his right hand demon was stuck on Earth. And Pride housed the Martial Star himself…

While recording the spatial coordinates of a city was not a major task, she was hesitant on doing it near Envy and Pride, especially at the start. The SSS-ranked demon well versed in magic could easily spot her, and so was the same for the martial star. It was unknown if they would pursue or leave her alone… but her actions would definitely be considered suspicious.

She could somehow avoid the SSS-ranked demon, but she was not confident about the Martial Star. He was more of a physical fighter, but a transcended being must not be underestimated, no matter what.

The fight with Kizmal had scarred her, and the fragment of Kizmal was not even fully an Epic being, merely close to it. Originally, she wanted to save these two cities for last, but as always…

Nothing went according to plan.

‘This might be an issue… or maybe not?’

She thought to herself, considering the chances. The other five cities were far away, but she could reach them. But was she willing to come back all the way again and record the coordinates of Pride and Envy? For a moment, she considered it.

‘It shouldn’t raise too much of an issue…’

Alpha and Beta silently stood by, waiting for her to make a decision.

‘If I’m careful, I can make sure there is a minimum amount of mana leakage, but what if they detect it?’

If the rulers did manage to detect it, her mission would be over before it even began, and Sabrina was not confident in being able to escape those two. The magic demon, maybe… but not an Epic Being.

All it would take for the Martial Star to kill her would be a simple wave of his hand in her direction, the physical force, amplified by mana would crush her body in an instant. Not even Alan could compete with an Epic being, despite how monstrous he was.

She weighed her options, and turned her head, gazing at the direction of the city of Pride, the home of the Martial Star. Sabrina gulped, nervous, but she didn’t back down.

‘It’s worth a shot.’

All that training had to be for something, if she couldn’t even conceal her magic, what kind of mage was she?

She moved towards the City of Pride, and activated her mana sense, using it to find her way through the dense miasma.

Alpha and Beta turned to look at her, unaware of their current location. They didn’t try to peek at her medallion, an unshakeable amount of trust in their queen. Even if Sabrina was serious on challenging the Martial Star, Beta and Alpha would throw their bodies at him first.

[Skill: Mana Sense has been activated.]

Once more, the core skill of a mage was activated, allowing her to see beyond normal means. Her mana spread out through all directions, and her eyes shone with an iridescent glow, and then, as soon as she activated mana sense.

She deactivated it, as beads of sweat fell down her head in a ridiculous amount. Her eyes quivered, and she struggled to stand still. Her hands gripped her staff lightly, and a coarse laughter escaped her lips as she immediately.

“A good mage also knows how to choose her opponents wisely…”

She mumbled. Beta scratched his head, unaware of what was going on, and Alpha nodded in approval. Sabrina immediately turned around, and declared.

“Let’s go to the city of Greed first! That should be the closest one… right?”

“What about Envy, your grace?”

Alpha questioned, to which Sabrina answered in a subdued voice.

“…We can go there later.”

“And what of Pride?”

“THAT IS SAVED FOR LAST! NOW COME!”

She yelled, and stood on her broom, speeding into the opposite direction of Pride. Alpha and Beta were taken aback by her speed, and rushed to follow.

Her mana sense had not worked as intended the moment she laid her eyes in the direction of the city of Pride. The mana that city released was incredible, overpowering, and the largest amount of mana she had ever seen.

It completely blinded her, and reminded her of where she stood. She had been humbled in but a second. While Sabrina was ignorant of the amount of mana her master, Azmakul held. She was well aware of Alan’s.

The mana released from the city of Pride was larger than even Alan’s, although not as pure. Regardless, Sabrina had no chance whatsoever. That vicious, and malevolent mana would consume her in an instant if she ever decided to go against it, and a mage knew when to back down from a fight.

She left Envy for the same reason as well, not because of the SSS-ranked demon ruling over it, but because of the close proximity to Pride. She had made up her mind, the Martial Star and his city, along with whatever came close, would be handled later.

At the very end, and even then, with a stupendous amount of precautions. Sabrina should be prepared for the very worst.

And even then, survival was not guaranteed…

‘… Maybe I can just tell Harrison I wasn’t able to get the coordinates for Pride…’

She considered it… for an extended period of time.
