Chapter 1224: I Can Do That?

Chapter 1224: I Can Do That?

A lot more important topics were discussed.

Lith had many questions regarding the world’s ascension. The one realm breakthrough sounded amazing, but there were still many things he did not understand about the process.

“Mom, how long until the world ascends?” Lith asked.

Lilith gave it some thought before answering, “I can’t tell you exactly, dear. Your aunts are already very close to their breakthroughs, and the world itself has almost reached the required level. It could happen soon or it could still take some time depending on their comprehension.”

Lith knitted his brows upon hearing that.

He was still in the middle of a war. The Evure God Clan possessed many Legendary Ranks and controlled vast territories in Shen Ze.

Even with the Central Alliance attacking from multiple directions, there was no guarantee that this war would end anytime soon.

Wars between powers of such size could last years or even decades. Lith previously did not care much about the time because as long as things moved in his favor, he could slowly bring the Evure God Clan down.

Now he couldn’t take things that slowly anymore.

“What happens if the world starts ascending while I’m somewhere else in Shen Ze?” Lith asked.

“You’ll have to return before the final ascension begins,” Lilith explained.

“Once the world starts separating itself from the Lower Realm, entering its boundaries will become much more difficult. You should be able to sense the changes before that happens, but I would still suggest not wandering too far when the time gets close.”

“I see…”

Lith rubbed his eyebrows.

The matter was troublesome.

The war was already ongoing and he could not simply stop midway. There was Meng Yuexin and her brother as well.

He had promised to free Meng Haoran, and although three days did not mean much to a Legendary Rank, Lith did not want to leave that matter unattended for too long.

Then there was the prison itself.

Lith had gone inside looking for a key and ended up getting something far greater than that. He still did not understand the Warden inheritance properly, nor did he know what the prison was truly capable of.

And now the world could ascend at any time in the future.

‘Why does everything have to happen together…’

Lith sighed internally.

His thoughts eventually returned to the Evure God Clan.

After learning what had happened to his grandmother, there was no chance Lith would suddenly stop the war and act as if nothing had happened. Just remembering Violet and the events from five hundred thousand years ago made his blood boil.

However, grandma’s words were still fresh in his mind.

She had asked him not to let resentment cloud his judgement.

Lith remembered how she had cried in the prison. She had already lost too much and was afraid of losing her family again.

If Lith rushed into the Evure God Clan because of anger and got himself into some ridiculous situation, it would only make her worry more.

‘But what am I supposed to do with those people?’

Violet was easy to antagonize.

Lith had absolutely no good impression of her.

Katherine, Isa, and Nicholas were different.

Nicholas had pointed his spear at Violet when she tried to have Lauren tortured for eternity. Katherine had used her position to save Lauren’s soul from destruction, while Isa had openly stood against Violet despite the situation being dangerous for her as well.

Could Lith really just attack them together with everyone else?

That did not sit right.

At the same time, those memories were from five hundred thousand years ago. Lith had no clue what Katherine, Isa, or Nicholas were like now.

Nicholas was still fighting for the Evure God Clan and had already slaughtered a large number of Central Alliance cultivators on the battlefield.

Maybe his feelings toward Lauren and his duty toward the clan were still completely separate matters.

Lith did not know.

Five hundred thousand years was too long.

Even Roy and Jacqueline had defected only recently. There were probably many things happening inside the Evure God Clan that Lith had no information about.

“My dear, you’re thinking too much.”

Lilith’s voice pulled Lith out of his thoughts.

He looked at her.

Lilith had an idea of what he was thinking and gave him a gentle smile, then said, “Mother asked you not to let resentment cloud your judgement. She did not ask you to forgive anyone.”

Lith stayed silent for a few seconds.

That was true.

He did not need to decide what to do with Katherine, Isa, Nicholas, or anyone else right now. He did not even know enough about their current situation to make such a decision.

He could first find out what exactly was happening inside the clan.

Roy and Jacqueline should know quite a lot.

Lucas probably knew things too.

‘I’ll deal with it when I know more.’

Lith then looked at Lilith again as another matter came to mind.

“Mom.”

“Yes, my dear?”

“When I attack the Evure God Clan… don’t interfere.”

Lilith blinked at the sudden request.

Lith could tell from her face that she did not like it, so he quickly added, “I’m not asking you to ignore me if I’m about to die or something. I mean the war itself. I want to handle it.”

Lilith stared at him for a moment before asking, “Why?”

Lith leaned back on the chair.

“This war started because of me. I was already fighting them before either of us knew grandma was alive. Then I went into their prison and found out everything that happened.”

Lith paused for a second.

“If you go there yourself, I don’t think there’ll even be a war anymore.”

He did not know the exact extent of his mother’s strength, but he knew enough.

His mother had casually claimed to be the strongest and somehow caused the entire heavens to react to her words. The Evure God Clan was powerful, but Lith seriously doubted they could do anything if Lilith personally decided to destroy them.

“I started this war.” Lith said. “I want to finish it myself.”

Lilith’s gaze turned gentle.

She reached out and caressed Lith’s silver hair.

“Alright, my dear. Mama won’t interfere with your war.”

Lith relaxed upon hearing that, but Lilith continued before he could say anything.

“However, if your life is truly in danger, I’ll still come.”

Lith looked at her and sighed.

He already knew arguing would be useless, so he just nodded and agreed.

Lilith leaned forward and planted a soft kiss on his forehead.

Lith smiled faintly and let the matter go.

A few moments of silence followed before he remembered the prison again.

‘Right, Meng Yuexin…’

Three days had passed since Lith used [Return] and left the prison. He had promised that he would free Meng Yuexin’s brother, so he had to return soon.

Before going back, however, Lith wanted to understand at least a little more about the Warden inheritance.

He closed his eyes and focused on the strange sensation within him.

It was quite different from an elemental connection or any normal ability. Whenever Lith focused on it, pieces of information surfaced naturally in his mind.

The prison.

Its seals.

The Warden.

There were also the other inheritances he had seen before going deeper—Executioner, Jailer, Watcher, and Sealkeeper.

Lith had not touched any of them because accepting random inheritances inside a living prison sounded stupid. He wanted to understand what the Warden authority did first before collecting anything else.

As Lith focused further, his connection with the prison became clearer.

‘If I’m really the Warden, do I even need to enter through the Evure God Clan’s secret passage every time?’

The thought had only just appeared when something within him stirred.

Lith opened his eyes.

Click.

A faint sound of a lock turning rang inside the room.

Lilith looked toward the side and Lith followed her gaze.

Space, a few steps away from them, distorted slightly.

The distortion slowly took shape and turned into a small rusted metallic door.

Lith stared at it with widened eyes.

He could feel the prison on the other side.

“…I can do that?”
