Seems like I was already expecting to be here since that secretary girl was waiting there for me...
That means I could meet with more threats up ahead if I were to rush in right now...
My objective here wasn’t to just kill everyone but to make sure that Kaito was dead and the perceived reason was because he tried to tame a dog but failed in the process of doing so.
In that case, I had to make sure not to leave any traces of me being here and I can’t kill anyone using any method that might result in them getting a clue that it might not just be limited to a dog being responsible for all the deaths.
I advanced towards the next part of the tower where the private lift waited to take me to Kaito’s personal office.
I got inside and pressed on the button before the lift started to move upwards.
At this point, I was expecting there to be someone up there as well to intercept me so I made sure to hide myself just in case they decided to just start shooting at the lift as soon as the door opened.
Surprisingly, that didn’t happen so I peeked out from the ceiling where I was hiding to see that there was no one inside the office.
In fact, the entire place was completely dark like it had been abandoned.
Hmm... I guess if you think about it rationally... The secretary girl from earlier already said that they were expecting someone to come here from the start... So it wouldn’t make sense for Kaito to just be waiting around here even though he already expected someone to attack him here, right?
Instead, he must be staying somewhere safe while setting up a trap to capture whoever was sent to eliminate him.
Right as I thought that was the reason, I felt the hair at the back of my neck stand and I immediately ducked my head.
That seemed to be the right decision as another sword slashed through the space where my neck had been.
I leapt back and looked at my assailant, realising that it was another one of Kaito’s secretary girls who was also wielding one of those energy blades with its edges glowing with light.
As though waiting for that exact moment, the lights came on and the other secretary girls appeared to surround me, having popped out from wherever they had been hiding.
It seems like all of them were using swords for some reason though I believe they also had firearms hidden underneath those suit jackets of theirs.
I wonder why? Is this just for aesthetics or something?
"Tsk... He managed to dodge that?" The secretary girl that tried to lop off my head muttered, turning back to face me.
I stayed where I was, not bothering to correct them about my identity since I was still wearing the security armour that hid my features from view, concentrating instead on holding my ground against the sudden ambush.
"Don’t suppose you would tell us who sent you?" One of the secretary women asked.
"If I do, would you tell me where your boss is hiding?"
"So that you can try and kill him? Not a chance."
"Well... Honestly, I’m not trying to kill him. I’m just trying to deliver a package to him," I half lied.
"Really? A package that involves you disguising yourself to sneak all the way here to the most protected room in this building just to deliver it?"
"It’s supposed to be a package that only he can open after all."
"I don’t suppose that package contains something like a bomb that would go off the moment he opens it?"
"Of course not. I checked the contents of the package itself and there’s no bomb."
"Think you’re funny huh? Speak. Tell us who sent you here and we might even let you live."
I placed a finger at where my lips were on top of the helmet I was wearing, "Sorry, Client’s confidentiality. I’m not supposed to share them outside of my job."
"Then you will die here," One of them grunted, slashing her sword out in an arc before leaping towards me.
Well... Since this girl volunteered herself...
I sidestepped the sword that came down from above before I held her in place with my telekinesis, giving me time to swoop in to grab her and hold her hostage.
I made sure to do the entire thing quickly so while she might have felt her body freeze up, she shouldn’t be able to make the guess that it was because of my telekinesis.
"Alright, no one try anything else," I warned them, wrapping my arm around her neck and holding her in place. "Someone does something funny and I will snap her neck."
I was afraid that they might not consider helping their own colleagues and just attack me anyway but surprisingly, they actually backed off.
On the other hand, the one I had grabbed growled at them, "Don’t worry about me!! Just attack him!! What are you waiting for?!"
I tightened my grip around her neck, choking her out to prevent her from saying anything else.
"I would not do what she just told you girls to do if I were you. Especially if you don’t want to see her neck being snapped."
The other secretary girls backed off.
At first, I thought it was them complying with my demands until the girl I was holding choked out, "Do it!! Do it now!!"
One of them that was in the encirclement then tapped on her arm which caused the girl I was holding to let out a cry.
Right then, electrical sparks appeared around her body and it travelled right up towards me, making me realise that they had intended for this to be a trap from me from the very beginning.
The electrical current reached me before I could push the woman away and I felt a tingling sensation travel up my arm as I shoved the woman away from me.
I braced myself for the electrical sparks to cause me pain or even paralyse me but... Aside from it travelling up my arm, nothing happened?
"Renata, are you alright?" I whispered, looking down at my arms.
"Umm... I think so, Daddy? That didn’t hurt at all."
The woman I had pushed away was now spasming on the floor after having been electrocuted by her own trap and the other secretary girls rushed forward to start attacking me, thinking I was affected by the jolts of electricity.
Ah, fuck this...
I ducked underneath a slash and gave my attacker a kick in her abdomen to send her flying away.
I then side stepped a thrust that was aimed for my chest and gave the woman who attacked me an elbow strike to her face.
There was a short lull between the next attack which gave me enough space to leap out of the encirclement and escape from the next few slashes that were thrown my way.
"Take it out, Renata," I ordered.
My eldritch maid obeyed and the box containing the dog popped to land in front of me.
I then used my telekinesis to rip open the door, allowing the pony sized dog to suddenly jump out from the box.
The reaction from the secretary bodyguards was immediate as all of them widened their eyes in fear before they quickly turned and started running away in different directions.
The Mastiff turned to look at me, clearly waiting to see if I had any orders for her so I went over to the chair that was supposed to be Kaito’s personal chair and pointed at it.
"Seek, seek!"
The dog came over to me and started sniffing at the chair for a moment before she lifted up her head to sniff the air.
She then turned towards a particular wall before she bounded straight towards it, ignoring the secretary bodyguards that were still trying to run away from her just to smash herself into the wall.
The entire portion of the wall broke apart to reveal a hidden room behind it and Kaito sitting inside that room looking just as fearful as his bodyguards, the guy having already seen everything happening here through the screens that showed a live feed of the room here.
I’m going to have to get Ries to delete all recordings here later.
I peeked through the hole in the wall and found the sight of Kaito cowering in the corner of the room a little amusing while the Mastiff stood in front of him, making sure he couldn’t escape.
Since we’ve already reached this part... I might as well leave him a parting gift.
I got Renata to reveal my face to him and his eyes widened even more when he realised just who was standing in front of him.
"Shouldn’t have tried to fuck with us, now you die. Go on a rampage, girl~"
The dog leapt towards Kaito...
