What Do You Mean I'm The Captain Of A Yandere Mercenary Company?

Chapter 919: Picking Up Some Deliveries~

Chapter 919: Picking Up Some Deliveries~

True to her word, Ries had one of those VR Capsules ordered and set it to be delivered to our next stop.

We were still on our way to meet our contact but we had to stop at a specific station first because we had some stuff to pick up before we head there.

That is... Our Exo-Knights were finally completed and we were now going to pick them up.

Hmm? I’m excited? Of course I am~ How could you tell? I’m practically bouncing in my seat when I received the news from Rosalia and Freiderike that they were ready for me to pick up at the nearest Crusader Inc. branch.

Thus, we were headed to the closest station along the way and we stopped by a trade hub that was floating in the orbit of a mining planet.

There was a lot of traffic around the station and even here, we could not dock with the station directly and had to wait for a boarding ship to come get us while our ships were parked outside the station.

The only ships that were allowed to dock directly with the station were cargo ships that were there to trade their bulk cargo which, I suppose, made sense.

Even though we were also here to do some trading as well, we weren’t trading in a volume similar to the other cargo ships so we could not dock our ship directly with the station.

We weren’t planning to stay here for long since we were just here to pick up our orders before leaving anyway so it didn’t really bother me.

I left Renata watching over the ship while my girls and I boarded the boarding ship and let it carry us towards the station alongside some of the other visitors.

Reaching the station, we went through the usual process of getting scanned to make sure we weren’t wanted criminals before we stepped into the station itself.

Staying true to its designation as a Trading Hub, the place was filled to the brim with people, some of them here to shop, others here to do business trading their wares.

We were also kind of the same here since we also intended to do some trade here, specifically selling off the loot we got from the Insurgents.

There’s a few things we needed to do here and I didn’t want to stay here for longer than necessary since we still had plans elsewhere, thus we decided to split up.

Vier would be going off to sell the loot we got from the Insurgents and both Yumiko and Renata will be accompanying her as guards in case she needed them.

Ries needed more supplies and also to pick up the VR Capsule for the ship and Mara also needed more medical supplies too. Additionally, I tasked Lea and Amber to get more food ingredients so the four of them grouped up together to go shopping.

That left me alone to go get our Exo-Knights from the company as I headed to the branch store that was set up here.

Well... Not alone since I was wearing Renata but you get what I mean.

I got directions for the location of the store and made my way there, wading through the crowd of people that were occupying the streets of the station.

The area in front of the boarding gates seemed to be a shopping district of sorts and while this station wasn’t as pristine and luxurious as the Pleasure Station I had just left, it certainly was quite clean and well maintained compared to the various stations in the Outer Colonies.

Cleaner drones hovered around and there were pristine hover cars floating along the roads without a sound.

And though there were quite a lot of people, there was still enough space to move around without needing to squeeze through them.

Another thing I noticed was that the people here were definitely dressed more casually, in the sense that they were dressed like normal people back in my universe where they would just be wearing simple clothes.

As compared to the Outer Colonies where practically everyone was carrying a weapon and dressed like they were ready to go to war or something with their jackets, combat boots and other accessories designed for combat enhancements.

In this space, I was actually standing out with what I was wearing.

I could just get Renata to change, of course, but I didn’t really see a reason to, so I just wore my normal combat suit with my shotgun and pistol equipped on me.

Naturally, I got a few looks from the people around me but they were looks of curiosity rather than hostility since Mercs like myself must be a rare sight around these parts.

Walking down the street, I found my destination easily enough since they had models of Exo-Knights decorating the front of the store so I walked in as the automatic doors slid open for me.

The moment I stepped inside, a male sales person immediately appeared beside me, dressed in a pristine suit.

"Welcome dear customer! Are you looking for... Oh."

He suddenly stopped talking when he saw me and his businesslike smile quickly disappeared to be replaced with what looked like disappointment.

"Can I help you?" He asked, his attitude changing to one that was clearly less friendly than before.

Well... I guess with my look, I certainly did not seem like the kind of person who would have Credits to spend to buy myself an Exo-Knight so his attitude was understandable.

And I’m actually not here to buy an Exo-Knight to begin with so this guy definitely would not be getting any commission from dealing with me.

I cleared my throat, "Ahem... I have an order here and I’m just picking it up. I believe there should be--"

"If you’re not buying anything, could you please leave? Unfortunately, being pretty doesn’t buy you anything here," He interrupted me.

I sucked in a breath before breathing out, "I just said that I have an order which was delivered here. I’m here to pick it up."

He looked at me up and down, clearly judging me before he shook his head, "If you just want to browse, feel free to go and look around."

I clucked my tongue in annoyance, "Is there another staff member here?"

He sighed before taking out his personal terminal, "Sure... What’s your order number?"

"My order doesn’t have an order number--"

"You’re really just here to waste time, huh?" He interrupted.

My order doesn’t have an order number because it was personally being built by those two and not through normal channels... But this guy...

I decided I would just head inside to find another staff member I could talk to but he suddenly moved in front of me to block my way.

"Hey, where do you think you’re going?"

I gave him a look, "You told me I was free to browse, didn’t you? So I’m going in to browse."

"That’s before you gave me that bullshit about picking up an order. Now I know you’re a trouble maker and people like you aren’t allowed in here."

Oh my god, what’s with my luck getting some stupid salesperson here? Can I just push past this guy?

I pointed at his personal terminal, "If you can search up your database, there should be a delivery here for Tera that came from The Barracks itself. I believe that order should have the approval of Freiderike and Rosalia on it."

"Who are those people? Never heard of them," He scoffed.

I guess expecting some random salesperson to know the head researcher and head engineer of the company was too much to ask for...

I wondered if I should just come back later when someone else entered through the doors, prompting the salesperson in front of me to straighten himself before stepping around me to greet the newcomer.

"Mister Able!! Thank you for coming again! How was your last purchase?"

I turned to see some guy wearing a white suit with his two arms draped around the waist of two girls who looked like escorts judging by the skimpy dresses they wore and the eye watering amounts of perfume that clung to them.

The guy known as ’mister Able’ tilted his chin at the salesperson, "Barely acceptable. It got scratched during the tournament last week so I had to dispose of it and get a new one."

"Of course, of course! Right this way, Mister Able! I will show you our newest models!!"

Instead of stepping into the store, the guy turned to look at me before sneering at the salesperson.

"Since when do you allow prostitutes like her to come in so freely? Hmm... She’s not bad looking at least but I don’t remember this place being a whorehouse."

The salesperson immediately turned to make a shooing motion at me, "What are you still doing here? I told you to leave! Leave before I call security to kick you out of here!"

...

I’ll be right back.
