Chapter 743: Rules Of War
Chapter 743: Chapter 743: Rules Of War
The atmosphere around the Silvy Base became tense from the very first moment.
Countless people stood in line while soldiers guarded every possible entrance.
At first, everything appeared stable.
However, that sense of security lasted only briefly.
To everyone’s shock, groups of humans suddenly crossed through the barrier.
Gasps echoed everywhere.
“How is that possible?! They got through! They crossed the shield!”
Panic instantly erupted.
Without hesitation, the human puppets charged directly toward the civilians waiting behind the defensive lines.
Fortunately, the frontline soldiers reacted immediately.
“Defensive formation!”
A commander roared.
Within seconds, multiple layers of soldiers positioned themselves between the attackers and the civilians.
Protective walls rose. Energy barriers activated.
Reinforcements rushed toward the area from every direction.
Even then, the scene remained horrifying.
Many civilians witnessed things they would never forget.
These attackers were not zombies. They were living humans.
Humans attacking their own species. One man repeatedly stabbed a soldier.
The soldier desperately tried to defend himself before eventually collapsing into a pool of blood.
Nearby, another attacker unleashed psychic energy.
Ten soldiers were lifted into the air before being violently smashed against the ground.
The sight caused many civilians to turn pale.
Some even vomited from fear.
However, the situation soon began changing.
The soldiers were not completely unprepared.
During the previous month, Ivy had invested enormous resources into strengthening humanity.
Numerous soldiers wore specialized defensive artifacts.
As a result, their defensive capabilities had increased dramatically.
Most importantly, they possessed resistance against psychic attacks.
When selecting defensive equipment, Ivy had immediately identified psychic abilities as one of the greatest threats.
Because of this, she had specifically prioritized acquiring artifacts capable of resisting psychic interference.
Every frontline soldier wore a specially designed psychic cloak.
The moment the cloaks activated, faint waves of protective energy surrounded their bodies.
Psychic attacks that should have shattered their minds suddenly became ineffective.
Many psychic users among the enemy forces immediately noticed something was wrong.
Their expressions darkened.
They felt as though they had encountered an unexpectedly difficult obstacle.
Meanwhile, far away from the battlefield, Tammy and Coco watched everything unfold through the eyes of one of their human puppets.
At first, they were laughing.
When they saw soldiers being stabbed and civilians panicking, amusement filled their faces.
Tammy crossed her legs elegantly. A smile appeared on her lips. “Ivy is still too soft.”
She chuckled. “With so many people dying, I wonder if she feels guilty.”
Coco laughed as well. “If I were in her position, I definitely would not care this much.”
However, their amusement quickly disappeared. Coco’s expression suddenly changed.
Her sharp eyes narrowed. She leaned closer toward the screen. “Wait.”
Her voice became serious. “Is that… a psychic cloak?”
The moment she spoke those words, Tammy’s eyes narrowed as well.
“What?”
She immediately focused her attention on the battlefield.
A few seconds later, disbelief appeared on her face.
“That is impossible.”
She slowly stood up. “How can they have psychic cloaks here?”
For the first time since arriving on Earth, genuine shock appeared in her eyes.
Psychic Cloaks were not ordinary equipment.
They were special treasures used by royal families.
Their primary purpose was to defend against powerful hybrid superior beings of comparable bloodlines.
Even in Tammy’s civilization, they were considered extremely valuable.
Yet now thousands of soldiers were wearing them.
The sight completely overturned her expectations.
However, the shocks were only beginning.
Just as Tammy prepared to issue more commands, she noticed one of the soldiers pulling out a strange metallic cube.
The moment she saw it, her pupils contracted violently.
Her voice almost cracked. “Is that…”
Nearby, Coco’s face turned pale. “Impossible.”
Her breathing became uneven. “How can they possess a Prism Cube?”
Tammy clenched her fists.
As its name implied, it could seal living beings within a separate spatial dimension.
Despite being only half the size of a person’s hand, it possessed an enormous internal space.
Its value was unimaginable.
Even royal families owned only a handful of them.
Yet now multiple soldiers on Earth were using them casually.
One after another, human puppets were captured and sealed away.
The scene left both Tammy and Coco stunned.
For a brief moment, neither of them could understand what they were witnessing.
‘Where is Ivy getting all of these treasures?’
The same question appeared in both of their minds.
Fortunately for Tammy, she had never relied on a single strategy.
Although Ivy’s preparations had greatly exceeded her expectations, Tammy had anticipated the possibility of unexpected variables.
Her expression gradually returned to normal. The shock vanished from her eyes.
“Proceed with Plan B.”
At her order, every human puppet immediately stopped what they were doing.
One after another, they reached for hidden weapons. Tammy had been surprised.
But she had never been careless.
Long before the war started, she had already prepared a backup plan specifically for Ivy’s unpredictability.
And now, it was finally time to use it.
As Tammy thought about the situation, she watched through the eyes of her human puppets as they simultaneously pulled out firearms.
These were not ordinary guns.
Every single one of them had been created using Tammy’s own energy.
The process had been exhausting.
For an entire month, she had continuously poured her power into manufacturing them.
That was one of the primary reasons she had given humanity a month’s warning in the first place.
The challenge itself had only been a secondary reason.
Thinking about that challenge letter made her expression darken slightly.
Deep down, she sincerely hoped that nobody would ever discover its contents.
On her home planet, issuing a challenge was indeed considered an honorable tradition.
However, there were strict rules.
A challenge letter had to be delivered at least six months before an invasion.
The targeted planet would then receive a full six months to prepare its defenses.
It was a custom established by countless generations of ancestors.
Officially, the purpose was fairness. Every civilization deserved an opportunity to resist.
The invasion was treated almost like a trial or a quest.
At least, that was how it was presented.
In reality, there were still countless advantages favoring the superior beings.
