Zombie Apocalypse: I Have Safe Zone Superpower

Chapter 744: Spider Web

Chapter 744: Chapter 744: Spider Web

Nevertheless, the six-month rule remained sacred.

Tammy’s decision to shorten that period to only one month was already a severe violation of ancestral laws.

If the higher authorities on Planet Astra discovered it, she would undoubtedly face punishment.

Even so, Tammy had never regretted her decision.

She firmly believed that Earth was too insignificant to deserve six months.

Unfortunately, reality was beginning to prove her wrong.

Through the puppets’ vision, she watched as countless bullets flew across the battlefield.

Many soldiers were struck.

However, the results were far from what Tammy expected.

The defensive artifacts Ivy had distributed protected them remarkably well.

Some bullets were completely deflected. Others lost their momentum before reaching their targets.

Many soldiers effortlessly dodged attacks that should have been fatal.

The situation quickly became worse.

More and more reinforcements from Ivy’s forces continued arriving.

The battlefield gradually shifted in humanity’s favor.

Tammy watched in disbelief as specialized squads began deploying strange devices.

Large nets were launched into the air.

The glowing meshes expanded rapidly before falling onto her human puppets.

One puppet after another became trapped.

At first, Tammy simply blinked.

Then her expression twisted.

Anger exploded inside her chest. “Nanami!”

She shot up from her seat.

Without hesitation, she stormed through the hallways.

Nearby, Coco looked equally humiliated. Her face had become pale.

The confidence she previously possessed had nearly vanished.

Neither of them spoke as they marched toward Nanami’s room.

A few moments later… Bang! Tammy kicked the door open.

Inside, Nanami sat calmly behind a table.

Several documents floated before him while he leisurely reviewed various records.

Without warning, Tammy rushed toward him.

She lifted her leg, intending to kick him.

However… Buzz. A translucent barrier instantly appeared around Nanami.

At the same time, his cold voice echoed throughout the room.

“Tammy.”

His gaze lifted slowly. “Control your tantrums. If you dare touch even a single strand of my hair, I will personally make sure you regret it.”

His eyes had become frighteningly cold.

Normally, Nanami tolerated Tammy’s impulsive behavior.

Occasionally, he even participated in her recklessness.

However, physical aggression crossed a line.

And that line was something he would never allow anyone to cross.

Tammy’s expression became even uglier.

Her fists clenched tightly. “Care to explain something?”

Her voice dripped with hostility.

“How does Ivy’s base possess Prism Cubes, Psychic Cloaks, and even Spider Webs?”

The moment the words “Spider Web” left her mouth, Nanami’s eyes widened slightly.

A rare expression of surprise appeared on his face. “What did you say?”

He stared directly at her. “They have Spider Webs?”

Tammy immediately noticed his reaction. A mocking smile appeared on her face.

“Oh, now you’re acting surprised?”

Her laughter sounded cold. “Have you forgotten something, Nanami?”

Her eyes narrowed.

“Only your family possesses the technology required to manufacture spider webs.”

Spider webs were extremely special tools.

Despite their harmless appearance, they were among the most effective capture devices in existence.

Normally, they looked like tiny bundles of thread.

However, once activated and thrown into the air, they rapidly expanded into enormous energy webs.

Even superior beings could be restrained if caught. Against ordinary humans, they were overwhelmingly effective.

More importantly… Spider Webs possessed another terrifying property.

They could temporarily sever the mental influence superior beings exerted over controlled individuals.

That was exactly why Tammy felt so restless. Every puppet she lost weakened her overall control.

Grinding her teeth, she glared at Nanami. “You betrayed us.”

Her voice was filled with certainty. “You switched sides long ago.”

She pointed directly at him. “Otherwise, Ivy should never possess these weapons.”

Nanami listened quietly. Then he slowly frowned. “I did negotiate with Ivy.”

His tone remained calm. “Certain agreements were made.”

However, he shook his head.

“I never provided weapon blueprints. Nor do I possess Prism Cube technology. And I certainly do not own Psychic Cloak blueprints.”

He folded his arms.

Then he calmly posed a question.

“If I truly possessed those blueprints…”

A faint smile appeared on his face.

“Do you honestly believe I would still need to come here to regain influence over my planet?”

Tammy opened her mouth. Then she closed it again.

Because logically, he was right.

If Nanami possessed such technology, he would never need human puppets.

He could simply establish his own influence, expand his business empire, and eventually challenge the royal family directly.

After all, such treasures were valuable enough to alter entire civilizations.

After several moments, Tammy finally spoke again. “Then where did she get them?”

Nanami leaned back in his chair. He closed his eyes. “There are several possibilities.”

His fingers tapped the table rhythmically.

“The first possibility…”

He opened one eye. “She is secretly in contact with another superior being.”

Coco immediately looked toward Tammy. Tammy looked toward Nanami. Nanami chuckled softly.

“Of course, that superior being would also need access to those blueprints.”

He continued.

“The second possibility is that someone from another planet established communication with her and provided the necessary knowledge.”

Tammy remained unconvinced. However, she still listened. Then Nanami paused.

A strange glimmer appeared in his eyes.

“The third possibility…”

The room became completely silent.

His next words caused both Tammy and Coco to freeze.

“Her past self told her.”

For several seconds… Nobody spoke.

Then Tammy burst into laughter. “Her past self?”

The disbelief in her voice was obvious. “She is just an Earthling.”

Nanami slowly shook his head. “No.”

His gaze became distant. “I am referring to memories from a previous life.”

A deep sense of disbelief appeared on Tammy’s face.

Then she laughed again.

This time, however, her laughter sounded forced.

“A previous life communicating with the present?”

She shook her head repeatedly. “Impossible.”

She pointed toward Nanami.

“You are dreaming. Even the royal family cannot accomplish something like that. How could an Earthling possess such an ability?”

Despite her confident words, uncertainty flashed deep within her eyes.

Because for the first time since arriving on Earth… she genuinely had no explanation.

Meanwhile, Coco sat quietly in the corner.

The confidence she once possessed had completely disappeared.

Every advantage they expected humanity to lack had somehow appeared in Ivy’s hands.

Every assumption they made had been proven wrong.

At this point, Coco honestly felt crushed.

For the first time, she realized something terrifying.

Perhaps the person they were trying to defeat was far more mysterious than any of them had imagined.
