Chapter 745: Mutated Human-1
Chapter 745: Chapter 745: Mutated Human-1
Suddenly, Nanami spoke in a calm voice.
“There is another possibility.”
The moment those words left his mouth, both Coco and Tammy immediately turned toward him.
Their expressions became serious.
Nanami folded his hands and continued calmly,
“Perhaps she has access to the higher level of temporal storage.”
For several seconds, silence filled the room. Both Tammy and Coco stared at him.
Then Tammy tilted her head before letting out a mocking laugh. “How is that possible?”
Disbelief was evident on her face. “The Temporal Storage?”
She laughed again. “The temporal storage hasn’t even unlocked to level 3 by the royal family.”
Her voice was filled with ridicule. “And yet you’re suggesting that someone like Ivy managed to unlock it?”
She shook her head. “That sounds more like a fantasy than a possibility.”
Hearing those words, Nanami remained composed. “You do not understand.”
His gaze became thoughtful. “We have been ignoring one important factor all along.”
He tapped the table lightly. ” Karmic Points.”
The word caused Tammy’s expression to freeze slightly. Nanami continued.
“Earth is filled with humans. As long as Ivy continuously helps people, protects them, and earns positive karma, accumulating points would not be impossible.”
Before he could finish, Tammy slammed her palm onto the table. Bang!
“Impossible!”
Her voice echoed throughout the room.
“Even if Ivy was as kind as some legendary saint or universal mother figure, she would still need at least two years to gather enough points to purchase blueprints for high-tier devices.”
Nanami did not argue. His understanding of Ivy was completely different from Tammy’s.
As a result, he simply remained silent. His silence only irritated Tammy further.
Grinding her teeth, she abruptly stood up. “We are proceeding with the plan B.”
Nanami immediately frowned. “No.”
His voice remained firm. “We are not.”
His opposition instantly ignited Tammy’s temper. “How dare you interfere?”
Her eyes burned with fury. “You are the traitor here.”
She pointed directly at him. “You betrayed us, and now you dare tell me what I can or cannot do?”
A dangerous smile appeared on her face. “We will do whatever we want.”
With that, she turned around. “Come.”
Coco immediately followed behind her.
However, unlike Tammy, Coco appeared shaken. Her shoulders seemed heavier than before.
Her confidence had already been worn down by everything she had witnessed. Meanwhile, after they left, Nanami slowly clenched his fists.
His eyes closed. The next second, a connection formed. Far away, inside the military headquarters, Ivy was preparing to head toward the battlefield.
Suddenly, she felt a familiar mental fluctuation. Her expression changed immediately. ‘Nanami?’
Without hesitation, she closed her eyes. Soon, Nanami’s voice echoed inside her mind, “Ivy.”
His voice sounded unusually serious. “What I am about to tell you is important.”
Ivy remained silent. Nanami continued. “Tammy is preparing to release a large number of additional human puppets.”
Hearing those words, Ivy frowned. “What do you mean?”
She immediately thought about the countless enemies already surrounding the base.
Nanami calmly replied, “The humans attacking right now are only a fraction of what we currently control.”
His words instantly caused Ivy’s heart to sink. “A fraction?”
“Yes.” Nanami’s voice became heavier. “What you are seeing on the battlefield is only one-tenth of the total number.”
He continued.
“Across the entire country, there are countless additional human puppets waiting. If they are all activated simultaneously, your base will face overwhelming pressure.”
He paused briefly.
“Previously, I prevented many of them from participating because I don’t mean actual harm to the civilization. That gave you an opportunity. But if Tammy completely ignores my authority…”
His voice lowered. “The casualties will become catastrophic.”
Ivy’s fists tightened. “You are trying to manipulate me.”
Her voice carried obvious suspicion. She truly did not trust Nanami.
However, Nanami simply sighed. “You can choose not to believe me.”
His tone remained sincere. “But I am telling the truth.”
For some reason, his voice sounded different today. After the connection ended, Ivy remained motionless for several moments.
A strange uneasiness settled in her heart. Soon, she opened her eyes. Silas immediately noticed her expression.
“What happened?”
Without hiding anything, Ivy relayed Nanami’s warning. Silas’s expressions instantly darkened.
After deep thinking, he spoke. “We need reinforcements.”
Ivy immediately nodded. Orders were rapidly issued. Reserve forces were deployed.
Additional squads moved toward the frontline. At first, the reinforcements seemed sufficient.
The situation gradually stabilized. The soldiers fought bravely. Many genuinely believed victory was within reach.
Unfortunately, reality soon proved otherwise. The battlefield began changing once again.
More enemies appeared. Then even more. The horizon seemed endless. Humans continued pouring toward the base like an unstoppable tide.
The soldiers had no choice but to continue fighting. Many soldiers were injured. Even so, morale remained relatively stable.
After all, they still believed they could win. Then everything changed. The dead began moving. At first, nobody noticed.
The battlefield was already chaotic. Bodies covered the ground. However, one soldier suddenly froze.
His eyes widened. “The corpse…”
His voice trembled. “The corpse moved.”
Nearby soldiers immediately turned. Then they saw it. A human who had died several minutes earlier slowly stood up.
The sight sent chills down everyone’s spine. Its movements were unnatural. Its eyes were lifeless. Its skin carried a sickly gray color.
One by one, more corpses began rising. The battlefield descended into chaos.
“What the hell is that?! Those aren’t normal zombies!”
“They were dead!”
Only then did everyone realize something was terribly wrong. The Temporal Storage immediately responded.
Numerous zombies were automatically targeted and removed. Yet despite its efforts, one creature successfully slipped through.
A soldier screamed. The zombie had bitten his arm. At first, the injury appeared minor. Then the soldier suddenly collapsed.
“AAAAAHHHHH!”
His scream echoed across the battlefield. Everyone looked toward him. The next moment, they witnessed a horrifying scene.
His body rapidly shriveled. His skin tightened against his bones. His blood seemed to be draining away. Within seconds, he resembled a dried corpse.
Meanwhile, the zombie feeding upon him visibly changed.
Its muscles expanded. Its skin regained color. Its movements became smoother.
