Zombie Apocalypse: I Have Safe Zone Superpower

Chapter 746: Deaths

Chapter 746: Chapter 746: Deaths

When it finally stood up, everyone could sense the difference.

It was stronger. Much stronger.

Ivy’s expression changed immediately. “Protect your skin!”

Her voice echoed through the battlefield. “Do not allow them to bite you!”

The soldiers hurriedly adjusted their defenses. However, panic was already spreading. The mutated human suddenly lunged toward nearby soldiers.

Its speed was terrifying. Much faster than before. Many soldiers who had once been confident now felt fear creeping into their hearts.

Some even regretted participating in the battle. Meanwhile, Ivy desperately searched for a solution. Alongside Silas, she carefully observed the creatures.

They analyzed movement patterns. Attack methods. Weaknesses. Anything that could help. However, the more they observed, the more unsettling the results became.

The creatures had almost no obvious weakness. Every category seemed balanced.

It was as though the creatures possessed no flaw whatsoever.

For the first time since the battle began, genuine concern appeared on Ivy’s face.

Unable to find an answer, she turned toward Silas. At that moment, Silas had already issued several rapid orders.

His expression was serious. Without hesitation, he began moving toward one of the mutated humans himself.

The creature growled. Dark blood dripped from its mouth.

Meanwhile, Silas calmly approached it.

Suddenly, a fierce battle erupted between Silas and the mutated human.

At first, everything appeared to be under control.

Silas moved with precision and experience. However, the longer the battle continued, the more unsettling something became.

This creature was intelligent. Far too intelligent. Its movements were not random like ordinary zombies. Its eyes constantly tracked Silas’s movements.

It dodged, adapted, and learned. Most importantly, it clearly understood its objective. The creature only needed a single bite.

Its mouth remained open almost constantly, revealing rows of unnaturally sharp teeth stained with fresh blood. Every attack it launched aimed directly for exposed skin.

Silas immediately realized the danger.

‘It doesn’t care about killing me.’

His eyes narrowed. ‘It only wants to infect me.’

The realization sent a chill through his spine. As long as those teeth even grazed his skin, the consequences could be catastrophic.

Therefore, he focused entirely on defense.

Rather than rushing for a killing blow, he continuously struck the creature’s joints, muscles, and limbs to slow it down while avoiding direct contact.

The battle dragged on. Meanwhile, the situation around them continued to worsen. More mutated humans began appearing.

The soldiers who had initially been watching Silas’s battle suddenly found themselves facing similar enemies.

The pressure increased rapidly. Eventually, Silas realized he no longer had a choice. He had wanted to capture the creature alive to study it.

But the battlefield no longer allowed such luxuries. His eyes turned cold.

The next time the creature lunged forward, he moved. A silver flash crossed the battlefield.

The creature’s head flew into the air. Its body collapsed heavily onto the ground.

Silas silently wiped blood from his weapon. He knew why the fight had lasted so long.

It was not because the creature was stronger than him. It was because he had been trying not to kill it.

Now that he had abandoned that restriction, dealing with them became much easier.

His soldiers were already elite fighters. With Silas personally joining the battlefield, more and more mutated humans were eliminated.

Bodies piled across the battlefield. Blood soaked the earth.

Yet strangely enough, nobody felt victorious. Because humanity was fighting humanity. Every enemy they killed had once been a normal person.

Every corpse on the ground had once belonged to someone’s child, parent, friend, or lover. Even Ivy could not help feeling that every victory resembled a defeat.

The battlefield grew quieter emotionally. Many soldiers no longer celebrated successful kills.

Their expressions became increasingly grim. Seeing this, Ivy immediately took action.

She raised her voice. “Second attack wave!”

Her command echoed across the communication network. “Psychic users, prepare for simultaneous suppression!”

Immediately, hundreds of psychic users stepped forward. Energy fluctuations spread across the battlefield.

One after another, influenced humans began collapsing. Some dropped their weapons. Others simply fell unconscious.

Large groups were successfully neutralized without being killed. However, not everyone was affected. Many influenced humans somehow resisted the suppression.

Meanwhile, defensive teams quickly surrounded the psychic users. Protective barriers appeared.

Everyone understood that the psychic users had become priority targets.

As a result, the operation continued successfully.

The process was incredibly exhausting. Many psychic users collapsed from mental fatigue.

Some suffered nosebleeds. Others became pale from overexertion. Still, they persisted. Rather than killing influenced humans, Ivy had specifically ordered them to force the victims into unconsciousness.

Even if they had been instructed to resist sleep, unconsciousness remained the safest solution currently available.

Watching the battle unfold, Ivy suddenly thought of someone. Nanami.

Without wasting time, she closed her eyes. Soon, a mental connection formed. The moment Nanami’s presence appeared, she immediately spoke.

“Can you force all of the influenced humans to fall asleep?”

Unfortunately, Nanami denied the idea almost immediately. “It is impossible.”

Ivy frowned. “Why?”

Nanami released a quiet sigh. “The influence is more complicated than you think.”

His voice sounded tired. “Imagine that I planted a seed. The seed belongs to me. However, Tammy added another protective shell around it.”

He paused. “You can think of it as a second layer of influence.”

His explanation continued. “I created the initial connection, but Tammy completed the process. Now the control system belongs primarily to her.”

As Ivy listened, her expression darkened. “So you cannot stop them.”

“I can interfere.” Nanami corrected calmly. “But I cannot completely override Tammy’s authority.”

For several moments, neither spoke.

Then Nanami suddenly sounded annoyed.

“Honestly, you should have informed me about your secret weapons.”

Ivy blinked. “What?”

His frustration became obvious. “Do you have any idea what happened because of that?”

He rubbed his forehead.

“Now Tammy and Coco already suspect me. They know I have connections with you.”

His voice grew colder.

“Because you never informed me about those weapons, I was unable to prepare any explanation. As a result, they are now hiding information from me.”

He released a long breath.

“And that makes things much more difficult for both of us.”
