Chapter 751: Goodbye
Chapter 751: Chapter 751: Goodbye
Hearing that, understanding flashed across Kael’s eyes.
He slowly nodded. “So that’s your plan.”
A bitter smile appeared on his face. “Fine. Then I’ll keep this as an escape route.”
His fingers tightened around the key. “I’ll protect it.”
Ivy nodded. “Good. Thank you, brother, you are the best.”
Then she suddenly paused. “Oh, right. There is something else.”
Reaching into her storage space, she pulled out a worn diary. She handed it over.
Kael looked at the diary in confusion. Just as he was about to ask a question, Ivy spoke first.
“In case I don’t return…”
Her voice became softer. “…open this diary.”
Kael’s expression froze. “I’ve written a solution inside.”
Neither of them spoke for several seconds. In the end, Kael simply nodded.
He didn’t trust himself to say anything. After he left, Ivy remained standing alone in the room.
The silence felt suffocating. Her gaze drifted toward the window as countless thoughts flashed through her mind.
For the first time in a very long while, she looked genuinely serious. The next day, she began preparing enormous amounts of food for Silas.
For the following three days, she remained extremely busy. She organized her assets. Sorted through resources. Transferred ownership documents. Prepared emergency supplies. Created backup plans.
At the same time, she continuously stocked food for Silas and everyone else.
Once everything was finished, she quietly drafted a will and handed it over to a trusted lawyer.
Only after completing all of those tasks did she finally allow herself a moment of rest.
Standing atop one of the highest floors of her building, she gazed down at the city below.
The evening wind brushed against her face.
Looking at everything she had built with her own hands, nostalgia filled her heart.
‘I never thought it would end like this.’
After spending an entire year building everything from nothing, she had never imagined that one day she might lose it all.
Or die at Tammy’s hands. Meanwhile, Ember continued anxiously waiting for news about Ivy.
Although she loved her baby, she was even more worried about Ivy.
Every chance she got, she repeated the same words. “Ivy, your life is more important. You are my sister. I don’t want anything to happen to you.”
Each reminder carried genuine concern. Ivy simply smiled every time. “I know.”
One by one, she met with Ember, her parents, her brothers, her sisters, and everyone important to her.
This only frightened the Blackthorn Family and the Nightbane Family even more.
The more farewells Ivy gave, the more uneasy everyone became. Finally, her mother grabbed her hand tightly.
After hearing the truth, her mother could no longer stay calm.
“Are you secretly planning to sacrifice yourself?”
Her eyes immediately reddened. “Ivy, I forbid it.”
Before she could continue, Ivy gently patted her mother’s hand. “Mother, you’re overthinking things.”
Her smile remained warm. “I’m telling you the truth. I will come back.”
Despite hearing those reassuring words, nobody felt relieved. They all exchanged glances.
However, none of them showed it.
They had already reached a silent agreement. Eventually, all eyes landed on Silas.
He stared at Ivy for several seconds. His expression was frighteningly calm.
“Fine.”
His voice was low. “We’ll let you do whatever you want.”
Then his gaze sharpened. “But remember this, Ivy. If you do something stupid this time…”
His jaw tightened.
“…if you are thinking of sacrificing yourself …”
A dangerous look appeared in his eyes.
“…then wait for the consequences.”
The anger hidden beneath his calm exterior was obvious.
If Ivy truly attempted another act of self-sacrifice, he would make sure she understood exactly how reckless and painful it was for everyone around her.
Ivy, on the other hand, simply nodded. Soon afterward, she left. Several hours later, she arrived at the location where Tammy, Coco, and Nanami were waiting.
At the center of the area stood a massive ritual circle. The moment Tammy spotted Ivy, a bright smile appeared on her face.
“Finally.”
She crossed her arms. “For a moment, I thought you were going to back out at the last second.”
Then she laughed softly. “Honestly, humans are fascinating.”
Her eyes glimmered with amusement. “How can someone be so eager to die?”
As she spoke, she carefully observed Ivy’s face.
She wanted to see fear. Despair. Regret. Anything.
Unfortunately, Ivy gave her nothing. Her expression remained completely indifferent.
“Shall we begin?”
Tammy’s smile immediately stiffened. Even Coco frowned.
Nanami quietly observed everything.
“Ivy.” Tammy tilted her head. “Was there really a need to put on such an act?”
Ivy chuckled.
“If I were in your position, I wouldn’t waste time talking.”
Her gaze became cold. “I would simply take what I wanted.”
After a brief pause, she continued. “After all, I’ve already killed plenty of your subordinates. You should be scared that I might have some trump card under my sleeve.”
The moment those words fell, everyone became alert. Even Nanami narrowed his eyes slightly.
For a brief moment, Tammy wondered whether Ivy possessed some hidden trump card.
After all, only three days earlier, Tammy had shown Ivy a horrifying picture.
The image displayed Ember’s child suspended above a river.
Below the child were countless crocodiles, alligators, and mutated beasts.
The sight alone had nearly stopped Ivy’s heart. Then Tammy had calmly delivered her threat.
“If you refuse, I’ll throw the child into the river. If the child dies, you’ll only hate me even more.”
Her smile had been terrifying.
“But if you agree…”
She gently tapped the photograph.
“…then Ember’s child will be returned safely without a single scratch.”
In the end, Ivy had agreed. Because, despite everything, Tammy had made a promise.
And among Superior Beings, promises carried special significance. Especially for someone like Tammy.
It was the only thing Ivy could gamble on. Now, Tammy watched as Ivy stepped into the center of the ritual circle.
The crimson symbols immediately began glowing.
Tammy’s smile widened. “Well then.”
She slowly sliced her palm open.
Fresh blood dripped onto the ritual circle. “Goodbye, Ivy.”
The moment the blood touched the symbols, the entire formation erupted with blinding crimson light.
