Chapter 4559: Only Loophole?
Chapter 4559: Only Loophole?
Once Fairy Xiu Juili entered their palace, Evelynn and Isabella welcomed her officially.
In their hearts, they actually felt less burdened since Davis finally took another wife. After all, they had been wanting to reward him for a long time know and he was pretty much disinterested with anything other than wanting to live peacefully, and the only thing they knew he was crazy about were his wives but he had been saying no to getting more as though he had grown tired of all of it for a decade.
Now they were finally sure he was the same rogue he was back then, putting their hearts at ease.
They now treated Fairy Xiu Juili with eagerness, wanting to get to know more about her.
Davis also sat with them, introducing her and discussing many specifics since Fairy Xiu Juili was still blind about how they operated. They were not talking about the Laws of the Davis Family, explaining the gist of it to her, and got to the Ten Commandments.
Fairy Xiu Juili nearly burst out laughing when she heard the Sixth Commandment- Honor your father, especially your mothers. I can take the disrespect and send a flying kick in return, but if your mothers were disrespected, that would be touching my reverse scale— there’s no telling what would happen.
She had just been talking about this with Davis before coming here, and it seems like it was already dealt with.
She was also extremely satisfied with the Eighth Commandment- You shall not commit adultery— The victim will have the right to execute the adulterer.
In this case, a secret affair was forbidden, so no matter who Davis was intimate with, he would have to tell all of them. She would like to know too, as she didn’t like to be in the dark. She guessed it was no wonder Evelynn and Isabella knew many things about her.
Finally, the Tenth Commandment made her smile deeply at Davis.
"Do not like my commandments? Come defeat me and make me change my mind. Failure will cause your fate to be decided by yours truly, the Divine Emperor of Death."
Fairy Xiu Juili uttered, her eyes full of fascination for his overwhelming confidence.
Davis’s lips curled into one of smugness.
Although chances are a few of his sons could enter the Empyrean Stage earlier than him, he still felt that way. At that time, he would have no problem using his full power to attack them.
"I’m like that, and I wouldn’t want any of my descendants to inherit my position since our values and laws would change. Still, after hundreds of years, we may retreat into the background and have new Heads of Departments take position to let them earn their experience to lead the family, but our positions will still exist in another form, overseeing the entirety of the Davis Family. What do you think?"
"Perfect." Fairy Xiu Juili’s eyes shimmered as she held a law compilation jade crystal, "Everything here is so carefully crafted. Who did it?"
"That would be Mingzhi, my sixth wife. She isn’t here, but she’s extremely willful and possesses Heart Intent, the same as me."
"How talented..." Fairy Xiu Juili raised her hand to hide her mouth, appearing surprised.
She didn’t expect someone so young could be this comprehensive.
"Do you want to reveal your Three-Eyed Divine Jade Pupil to your new sisters...?" Davis asked through soul transmission.
"Of course. If I hid this matter right now, my sisters won’t trust me."
"Good choice." Davis nodded. It seems like she really did have her ways to make people trust her by revealing information that is beneficial to them or revealing her vulnerable side. She was indeed cunning.
"Sisters," Fairy Xiu Juili called out without a hint of embarrassment as she looked at Evelynn and Isabella.
"I possess the Three-Eyed Divine Jade Pupil."
"..."
Evelynn and Isabella still kept a smile on their faces. Having gained a new sister, they wanted to be presentable and share thoughts without prejudice. Suddenly, their expressions faded.
"..." Fairy Xiu Juili noticed the change in their expressions.
It didn’t seem good.
Evelynn and Isabella looked at each other, their eyes shimmering before they turned to look at Davis.
"You know?"
"I just learned about it a while ago. Your new sister is quite the cunning fairy. She could not be surveyed by my Heart Intent. I estimate I can’t unless I’m a major stage higher than her in prowess." Davis chuckled.
"How terrifying..." Tia entered the scene from the entrance.
Her purple eyes glowed as she gazed at Fairy Xiu Juili, "The Three-Eyed Divine Jade Pupil is said to be a mythical fey physique, born in one out of quadrillion feys of the serpent race. To think it had manifested in you. Even my divinations haven’t found such luck entering our home."
"Perhaps it is also the uniqueness of my physique- to remain concealed from divinations. If a great Mystic Diviner like you couldn’t sense my presence, this would explain why I am not hunted down by anybody." Fairy Xiu Juili nodded with a humble voice.
Davis and the others blinked. They didn’t know this information, but Tia knew.
The Three-Eyed Divine Jade Pupil Physique had ’Divine’ in it, so it was shrouded in mystery. Only a few abilities were known about it. It had been called using many names too, but this was the official name that had been given. It was a physique that was much more well-known in the Greater Realms.
They remembered they read about someone possessing it battling in the battlefields of the galaxies, but they weren’t sure. It was already vague information, and combined with the karmic burden of the physique, they couldn’t remember the name or the title.
"If I remember correctly," Davis opened his mouth, "It was said Fairy Divine Jadesilk Eyes has it and that her gaze was like silk brushing over your skin, hence the title. She piqued my interest while I was going through the records of great historical cultivators in the Greater Realms since she is one of the very few who gained the Divine title at a young age, incurring greater karmic burden but still managing to pass her tribulations."
Everyone was surprised since Davis was able to remember it, but they thought it was as expected of him.
"If she’s still alive, she should be an Exalt since she’s an old character..." Tia pursed her lips, "Do you want to be her disciple?"
"I suppose so, but I don’t think I can after becoming the Divine Emperor of Death’s thirty-first bride..." Fairy Xiu Juili giggled.
Evelynn and the others also laughed. They must admit Fairy Xiu Juili knew not only how to conduct herself but also jovial.
Tia giggled, "In any case, I must warn you since you possess a special physique like the Three-Eyed Divine Jade Pupil Physique. After all, some of the foundational laws in our family are based on Mingzhi and big brother’s Enigmatic Heart Laws. Since no one can elude them, they cannot think about lying to the Justice Department, but you’re different. You can lie."
"..." Fairy Xiu Juili blinked innocently. This was precisely what she was worried about.
"Please advise me." She cupped her hands.
"When it comes to lies, especially in court, that will be taken as false accusations. Our laws are quite special since if someone accuses another person of murder but they failed to provide evidence and no evidence has been found by the relevant investigation, it will transform into Defamation at the end of the case’s lifespan."
Tia paused as she saw Fairy Xiu Juili nod. She continued, "In other words, the same case will twist into one of Defamation when the accusation turns out to be a false accusation, even when it cannot be confirmed. For the rest of the duration of the case, the accuser will become the accused, and justice will be served accordingly."
Fairy Xiu Juili’s lips parted, her eyes widened, "Wouldn’t that just introduce more complications? Like the victim wouldn’t step forward for fear of being now treated as the accused?"
"That won’t happen since we have our experts who are extremely proficient in finding out the truth using emotions. We also have a formation made from the uniqueness of the Transcendent Truth Eyes to find out the truth of the reality. Regardless, our investigation efforts are nearly foolproof."
Tia appeared proud before her expression became solemn, "Still, reality is always different from our perspective, and sometimes, we end up making a mistake by pointing the finger at the wrong person because of our vague memories or even being fooled by illusions. Therefore, we also introduced categories in which the new accused can be fairly trialed."
"If no evidence is found for false testimony, the current accused gets to go scot free."
"Minor evidence and unable to prove: Community service."
"Major evidence, but unable to prove: Prison time or house arrest, depending on the accusation. Plus community service."
"Major evidence and false testimony proved : The current accused will be met with the full force of the punishment that is imposed on the current victim. Transfer of assets up to fifty percent."
"If there is absolute and conclusive evidence, then the current accused will be met with the full force of the punishment that is imposed on the current victim, in addition to undergoing torture specified by the judge or the victim. Transfer of assets up to ninety percent. The severity will depend on the case and the accusation involved."
"..."
Fairy Xiu Juili was dumbfounded as she heard Tia go off.
The atmosphere turned silent.
Tia smirked. She finally opened her mouth after the seemingly long pause, "So, for the sake of your own well-being, don’t be impulsive and accidentally lie. Even if you do lie, take it back immediately. Everyone fears the Divine Emperor of Death, so in the past decade, not a single member of our entire alliance has lied."
Fairy Xiu Juili turned to look at Davis, her gaze speechless.
"I told you. We’re pretty tight. The chances of internal struggle are pretty much non-existent for the first three to nine generations."
Fairy Xiu Juili couldn’t help but nod. Still, she didn’t know whether to feel safe or not, since she was the only loophole in this airtight defense they had created.
