Chapter 1904: Two Person... Two Monsters... One Heart: Part-2
Chapter 1904: Two Person… Two Monsters… One Heart: Part-2
“ROAARRRRRR!!”
The black-tailed mech-suit stood several dozen meters away from the five-legged white beast.
Its five legs bent.
The enormous Origin Crystal embedded in its forehead suddenly brightened.
Alpha’s visor immediately displayed a warning.
[ENERGY SURGE DETECTED.]
Alpha tilted her head slightly.
The crystal flashed.
A massive beam of white energy erupted from the creature’s forehead.
BOOOOOOM!!
The beam tore across the Arena.
The ground beneath it vaporised instantly, leaving behind a glowing scar across the battlefield…. The barrier around the arena pulsed gently as it kept the audience safe and all.
The audience screamed.
“LOOK OUT!”
“She didn’t move!”
“Is she—”
The beam passed directly through Alpha.
For one brief moment, the crowd froze.
Then the spectators saw the image distort.
A holographic afterimage flickered.
The real Alpha had already moved.
She stood several meters to the creature’s side, one foot planted against the Arena floor.
The mech-suit’s tail hovered behind her.
The beast turned.
Alpha disappeared.
And,
BOOM!
A thunderous impact suddenly erupted against the creature’s side.
Alpha’s armoured fist struck beneath its ribcage with enough force to lift the enormous creature several meters from the ground.
The beast’s body twisted sideways.
The audience erupted furiously, seeing that damn thing flew by a mere human.
Alpha’s tail suddenly snapped forward.
CLANG!
One of its segmented sections struck the creature’s airborne body.
The impact redirected the beast downward.
Before it could recover, Alpha was already above it.
Her right leg folded.
The mech-suit’s internal systems released a burst of compressed energy.
Then she kicked.
BOOOOOOM!!
The creature was driven into the Arena floor.
Cracks exploded outward from the point of impact.
The audience roared.
“WHOAAAAA!!!”
“SHIT!!”
“She’s soloing the damn thing like nothing!!”
“Haha… I am going to be rich!!”
While the crowd shouted, Alpha landed lightly several meters away.
The creature remained buried beneath the fractured ground.
For a moment, there was silence.
Then the rubble moved.
One enormous white claw emerged.
The creature slowly pulled itself from the crater.
Its body was damaged. But it was still standing… as if it wouldn’t give up.
The Origin Crystal on its forehead pulsed again.
Alpha’s eyes narrowed behind the visor.
The beast suddenly opened its mouth.
Instead of another beam, dozens of luminous particles gathered around its body.
The particles suddenly shot outward.
Hundreds of razor-thin energy blades formed in midair and shot toward her, slicing through the air.
Alpha immediately reacted. The segmented tail spread apart, and each section rotated independently.
Then—
SHING! SHING! SHING! SHING!
The tail transformed.
The mechanical segments unfolded into a series of curved energy shields that rotated around Alpha’s body.
The incoming blades struck them one after another.
CLANG! CLANG! CLANG! CLANG!
Sparks erupted through the Arena.
Alpha moved between the gaps, as her body disappeared and appeared rapidly as if she was teleporting but at a small distance.
Every movement was impossibly precise.
She did not simply dodge the attacks.
She predicted them.
The mech-suit calculated the trajectory of every projectile and subtly shifted her body into the smallest possible opening.
Another barrage of attacks erupted.
Alpha twisted her torso.
A blade passed within centimetres of her shoulder.
She lowered herself.
Another passed above her head.
The tail rotated.
A third projectile struck the mechanical tail and was redirected into the Arena floor.
Then Alpha shot forward.
The beast raised one of its enormous legs.
Alpha slid underneath it.
The creature slammed its limb down.
BOOM!
The Arena shook.
Alpha was already behind it.
Her tail extended.
A sharp mechanical spike formed at the tip.
She drove it directly into the creature’s hind leg.
CHKKK!
The spike penetrated.
The creature roared in pain.
“RROOOAAARRR!”
Alpha pulled.
The mechanical tail released the spike and wrapped around the creature’s leg.
Then the entire mech-suit rotated.
The enormous beast was suddenly thrown sideways.
WHOOOOM!
Its body crashed through the Arena floor.
And once again, the audience exploded into cheers.
“ALPHA!”
“ALPHA!”
“ALPHA!”
Alpha stood still.
The beast twitched.
Then its Origin Crystal suddenly turned crimson.
Alpha’s visor flashed red.
[WARNING.]
[Energy output increasing.]
The beast’s body began changing.
Cracks appeared across its white skin.
Light poured from beneath them.
The five legs expanded.
Additional armour-like structures emerged from its shoulders.
The Origin Crystal grew brighter.
The creature’s energy skyrocketed.
Alpha’s eyes widened.
A massive claw appeared directly in front of her.
She crossed both arms.
BOOOOOOM!!
The impact launched her backwards.
Her mech-suit skidded across the Arena floor, leaving two enormous trails behind her.
Alpha stabilised herself.
The tail slammed into the ground.
The mechanical segments dug into the surface and stopped her momentum.
She looked up.
The beast was already above her.
Its five legs moved independently.
One came from the left.
Another from the right.
Two descended from above.
The fifth aimed directly toward her chest.
Alpha’s body twisted sideways.
The first strike missed.
She ducked beneath the second.
Her tail caught the third.
She stepped backwards from the fourth.
Then the fifth leg came down.
Alpha suddenly jumped.
The creature’s limb smashed into the Arena.
She landed directly on it.
The audience gasped.
Alpha sprinted along the creature’s enormous leg.
The beast tried to shake her away.
Alpha jumped.
The creature swung its body.
Alpha rotated through the air.
Her tail extended.
A mechanical blade formed from the tip.
She caught herself against the creature’s shoulder.
Then she ran upward.
The Origin Crystal was directly ahead.
The beast opened its mouth.
Alpha accelerated.
The beam fired as she dodged, and the beam passed behind her.
Alpha continued forward.
The distance between them disappeared.
She raised her fist.
The mech-suit around her forearm separated.
Energy conduits ignited beneath the plating.
The entire arm began glowing.
[KINETIC AMPLIFICATION: 72%.]
And she punched the Origin Crystal.
BOOOOOOOOOOM!!
The explosion swallowed the upper half of the creature.
A shockwave blasted through the Arena; the barriers violently fluctuated as the spectators turned silent.
The enormous display screens briefly filled with white.
Then the smoke slowly cleared.
Alpha remained standing on the creature’s shoulder.
The Origin Crystal was cracked.
But it had not shattered.
A thin fracture ran across its surface.
The spectators were surprised to see the shurdiness of the monster…
“Damn, it was the first time her attack didn’t shatter the crystal”
“Yeah, it barely cracked… one of the toughest monsters she faced so far”
The beast slowly raised its head.
Alpha looked at the damaged crystal.
“Tsk,” She clicked her tongue with annoyance. She used most of her energy on the punch and yet…
“RROOOOOAAAAARRRRR!”
The creature roared.
Alpha lowered her stance.
Her mechanical tail unfolded behind her.
The individual segments separated.
Then they began rotating faster and faster.
The mech-suit’s armour shifted as the panels opened along her shoulders, hips, thighs, and back.
Small propulsion units emerged.
The entire black-tailed mech-suit suddenly became surrounded by thin lines of blue-white energy.
The Arena’s automated systems immediately began calculating the pressure generated around her.
[COMBAT CONFIGURATION UPDATED.]
[NEURAL RESPONSE SYNCHRONIZATION: 99.8%.]
[ALL LIMITERS REMOVED.]
Alpha vanished.
The beast charged.
BOOOOOOOOOOM!!
The impact created a circular shockwave that swept across the Arena.
The creature’s five limbs struck from different directions, each attack carrying enough force. Alpha twisted between them, her black-tailed mech-suit moving with impossible precision.
One claw tore through the space where her head had been.
She ducked.
Another slammed toward her ribs.
Her tail intercepted it.
CLANG!
The mechanical tail wrapped around the creature’s limb and redirected the attack.
Alpha stepped forward.
Her fist struck the creature’s chest.
BOOM!
The beast staggered.
Before it could recover, Alpha’s tail released its limb and snapped forward.
THWACK!
The tail struck the side of its head.
The creature spun while she followed it like a football player and kicked it again and again.
Each impact landed at a different point on the creature’s body, forcing it backwards across the Arena.
But the creature suddenly stopped.
Its five legs dug into the Arena floor.
The Origin Crystal on its forehead pulsed violently.
A deep vibration rolled through the battlefield.
Alpha’s visor immediately filled with warnings.
[ENERGY CRITICAL.]
[HIGH-DENSITY ENERGY CONVERGENCE DETECTED.]
Alpha stopped.
The creature opened its mouth.
Instead of one beam, hundreds of luminous spheres formed around its body.
Then every sphere locked onto Alpha.
The spheres fired simultaneously.
Hundreds of beams crossed the Arena.
The Arena disappeared beneath a storm of white light.
BOOM!
BOOM!
BOOM!
BOOM!
Explosions erupted everywhere.
The Arena shook violently.
The spectators screamed as the enormous display screens struggled to track Alpha’s movements.
But inside the storm, Alpha was moving.
Her mech-suit’s propulsion units fired in short bursts.
She twisted.
Rotated.
Accelerated.
Her tail became a moving shield behind her.
Every segment intercepted a beam before it could strike her.
Then one beam grazed her shoulder.
KRRRSH!
Armour exploded from the impact.
Alpha was thrown sideways.
She slammed against the Arena floor and rolled several times before stopping.
For a moment, she remained still.
The crowd fell silent as they gripped their seat with tension; some worried if they were losing their bet while others seriously worried.
Smoke drifted from her damaged shoulder.
Alpha slowly pushed herself upright.
Her mech-suit’s systems immediately reported the damage.
[LEFT SHOULDER ARMOR: 89% INTEGRITY.]
Alpha looked toward the creature.
It was already preparing another attack.
She exhaled.
“Fine.”
Her fingers curled.
“Then I’ll stop playing around too.”
The propulsion units on her back opened completely.
The segmented tail detached from its normal configuration and separated into multiple independently controlled sections.
The pieces hovered behind her.
Each one began rotating.
The audience could see it.
“She was holding back?”
Someone whispered.
Another spectator answered without taking his eyes away from the battlefield.
“That wasn’t even her full combat configuration…”
Alpha lowered herself.
Her entire body became almost motionless.
The creature charged.
And… Alpha disappeared.
The creature’s attack struck nothing.
A black streak suddenly appeared along its left side.
Then another.
And another!
THOOM!
THOOM!
THOOM!
The spectators struggled to follow what they were seeing.
Alpha was moving around the creature as if she were teleporting.
Every appearance lasted less than a second.
She struck one joint.
Disappeared.
Struck another.
Disappeared.
Her tail segments attacked independently, striking from completely different directions.
The creature roared and swung wildly.
But Alpha was already somewhere else.
The audience began screaming again with enthusiastic voices.
The creature tried to move.
One of its legs buckled.
Alpha appeared beneath its body.
She drove her fist upward.
BOOOOM!
The creature’s entire body lifted from the ground.
CLANG!
BOOM!
CRACK!
The creature desperately fired another barrage of energy.
Alpha twisted through it and continued to climb again.
Higher.
Higher!
Until she reached the level of its head.
The Origin Crystal pulsed.
The creature gathered everything it had left.
A gigantic sphere of white energy formed above its forehead.
The entire Arena began vibrating.
Spectators instinctively rose from their seats.
“That’s too much energy!”
“Is it going to destroy the Arena?”
The creature released the attack.
A gigantic beam erupted from the Origin Crystal.
Alpha flew directly toward it.
The audience screamed.
“She’ll get hit!”
But Alpha did not dodge.
She accelerated; every propulsion system fired simultaneously.
The beam swallowed her.
For a heartbeat, nothing could be seen.
Then—
A black silhouette emerged from inside the beam.
Alpha was still moving, but her mech-suit was smoking.
Armour was damaged.
Yet, she continued forward.
Her hand reached toward the Origin Crystal.
The creature’s eyes widened.
Alpha’s fingers touched the cracked crystal.
Her entire mech-suit released every remaining reserve of energy into her arm.
[ALL AVAILABLE ENERGY REDIRECTED.]
[OUTPUT: 312%.]
[WARNING.]
[MECH-SUIT STRUCTURAL FAILURE IMMINENT.]
Alpha clenched her fist.
“Break.”
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!
The Origin Crystal shattered.
A tremendous explosion erupted above the Arena.
Fragments of luminous crystal scattered through the air like burning stars.
The creature released one final roar.
“RROOOOOAAAAARRRRRR!”
The creature finally crashed onto the Arena floor.
Silence.
For several seconds, nobody moved.
Alpha descended slowly through the fading smoke.
Her damaged mech-suit landed on the arena.
One knee touched the ground.
Her black mechanical tail rested behind her, several segments sparking from the strain.
She slowly stood.
Within seconds, the entire Main Arena erupted.
“ALPHA!”
“ALPHA!”
“ALPHA!”
“ALPHA!”
The sound became deafening.
Thousands of spectators screamed her name as holographic banners filled the air.
The announcer stood frozen for several seconds before finally raising his voice.
“THE BEAST HAS BEEN DEFEATED!”
The crowd erupted even louder.
“THE VICTOR OF THIS MATCH…”
The announcer paused dramatically and,
“ALPHA!”
The Arena exploded with cheers as thousands upon thousands of spectators erupted into celebration.
“ALPHA!”
“ALPHA!”
“ALPHA!”
Their voices echoed throughout the enormous Colosseum while countless holographic banners illuminated the air above the spectators, displaying Alpha’s name and insignia across the vast Arena.
Alpha, however, showed no interest in the celebration surrounding her victory. She simply turned around and began walking toward her designated base without acknowledging the enormous crowd that continued chanting her name.
Behind her, the defeated creature’s enormous body slowly began breaking apart, its white form crumbling into countless particles that resembled drifting ash. The remains were gradually pulled toward the fractured space from which it had emerged.
The crack slowly narrowed until reality returned to its original state.
The audience continued watching Alpha as she walked toward the massive entrance of her base, and many spectators clearly wanted her to remain longer after witnessing such an extraordinary battle.
However, they understood that expecting anything more from her would be unrealistic.
After all, Alpha was not merely another participant in the Tournament.
She was the Governor of Alpha City and the Second-in-Command of the Empire, making her presence on the battlefield something far more significant than an ordinary competitor’s appearance.
Alpha finally reached the entrance of her private base, and the enormous metallic doors immediately opened in response to her approaching presence.
She stepped inside without looking back toward the spectators.
Once she entered, the enormous metallic doors slowly closed behind her, separating her from the deafening roar of the Colosseum.
The atmosphere inside her base was completely different from the Arena outside, with the entire chamber remaining almost unnaturally quiet and controlled.
Advanced machinery covered the walls and ceiling, while numerous robotic arms remained suspended above specialized maintenance platforms, waiting for their next command.
The moment Alpha entered, several of the robotic arms activated simultaneously.
Their mechanical joints rotated with precise movements while their sensors immediately identified the damaged components of her mech-suit.
Alpha continued walking forward without slowing down as the machines began following her movements.
Her perfectly tailored black mech-suit gradually started disengaging from her body, with each individual section separating through carefully synchronized mechanical movements.
The process began around her lower body before slowly progressing upward, allowing the armor to detach without interfering with her movement.
Several robotic arms immediately moved into position and caught each detached component before it could touch the ground.
By the time Alpha reached the center of the room, almost the entirety of her mech-suit had been removed from her body.
Her thick, deep-black hair fell freely down her back, reaching almost to her buttocks as she continued walking toward the large mirror positioned at the far end of the room.
Alpha eventually stopped directly in front of it and quietly examined her reflection.
Her two sharp golden eyes stared back at her from beneath her long black hair, while her delicate features carried a natural beauty.
She tilted her head slightly while examining her reflection, and a faint smile slowly appeared across her lips.
“Hmm… I’m gorgeous as ever.”
She murmured the words in her usual cold tone, apparently completely satisfied with the reflection staring back at her.
Spark!
Before she could admire herself any further, however, a sudden electrical spark erupted from somewhere below.
Alpha’s expression immediately changed as she lowered her gaze toward her arm.
Her forearm, which had delivered the final strike against the Origin Crystal, suddenly twitched while several small sparks jumped across the cracked wrist.
Her previously pleasant expression immediately became irritated.
She clicked her tongue before calmly calling out, “02.”
The moment she spoke, the nearby robotic systems immediately responded to her command.
Alpha walked toward the nearby sofa and lowered herself onto it, resting her back against the cushions while examining the damaged forearm.
She raised her injured arm before using her other hand to carefully twist the damaged section.
With a quiet mechanical click, the entire forearm detached from her arm.
Alpha looked at the broken component for a moment before casually throwing it toward the side.
One of the robotic arms immediately moved forward and caught the damaged forearm before it could fall onto the floor.
Another robotic arm approached Alpha while carrying a large reinforced briefcase.
The robotic arm placed the briefcase beside her before another machine moved forward and opened the reinforced case.
A cold hiss escaped from inside as a cloud of chilled vapor spilled across the surrounding area.
Alpha looked down at the contents and saw another forearm resting securely inside the temperature-controlled compartment.
The replacement component was nearly identical to the previous one, except that it remained in pristine condition without even the slightest sign of damage.
Alpha carefully picked up the replacement forearm before aligning it with the exposed socket of her arm.
She pushed the component into position before rotating it carefully until the internal mechanisms connected properly.
A loud mechanical click echoed through the room as the replacement forearm locked itself into place.
Sn… sngg… sn… gg…
Alpha flexed her fingers several times, carefully testing the responsiveness of each joint.
She rotated her wrist in both directions before opening and closing her hand several more times.
Satisfied that the replacement had synchronised properly, Alpha leaned back against the sofa and relaxed her shoulders.
She remained there for several moments before suddenly turning her attention toward the distant sounds coming from the other side of the Colosseum.
“What’s the noise coming from the other side?”
The AI immediately responded through the room’s internal communication system.
“An emerging participant named Lackey has eliminated more than 1500 opponents during the Test Match, establishing the highest elimination count recorded in the history of the Tournament.”
Alpha raised one eyebrow as she processed the information.
“Hmm… 1500? You’re saying he eliminated that many opponents in a single match?”
“Yes. The number continues to increase.”
Alpha remained silent for several seconds before looking toward the large display positioned across from her.
“Huh… interesting.”
The screen immediately displayed footage from the Test Match.
A rabbit-masked man appeared on the screen, sitting casually atop a corpse while blood and destroyed machinery surrounded him.
Alpha stared at the image with growing curiosity.
“Details.”
The AI immediately began displaying every piece of information currently available through the Tournament’s registration system.
“Name: Lackey. Registration status: Participant. Affiliation: Governor Beta. Classification: Slave. Bloodline information: Unregistered. Previous combat records: Unavailable. Previous identity records: Unavailable.”
Alpha listened quietly until the information finished.
Her golden eyes remained fixed on the rabbit-masked man displayed before her.
“Beta’s slave… huh.”
She slowly leaned forward while continuing to study the image.
“So that’s the unknown bloodline she brought.”
A faint smile gradually appeared across her lips as she considered what she had just learned.
“She must have caught an impressive one.”
Alpha continued examining the image for several moments, but something about the displayed footage eventually caught her attention.
Her smile slowly disappeared.
She narrowed her golden eyes before leaning closer toward the screen.
“Zoom in.”
The AI immediately enlarged the image, bringing the rabbit mask and the visible portion of Lackey’s face into sharper focus.
Alpha stared at the screen.
“Closer.”
The image enlarged again, focusing specifically on the narrow openings beneath the rabbit mask.
Through those openings, she could see his eyes.
Two unmistakable ice-blue eyes stared from behind the mask.
Ba-dump!
Alpha’s heart suddenly skipped a beat.
Her golden eyes widened slightly as her expression changed from curiosity to confusion.
She remained completely still for several seconds, unable to understand the strange sensation that had suddenly passed through her chest.
Her frown gradually deepened as she slowly raised her fingers and touched the centre of her chest.
“What… happened just now?”
