Chapter 457: The Unrest and The Doubts... Part-1.

Spire of Ascension, Upper floors.

"I have done whatever I could... both of them are now in stable condition... their life is not in danger anymore..."

While Rio fought and chased Alverto to the lower floors, Link and the others made another trip down to grab Jin and Riko.

They couldn’t find Riko on Floor 7.

They laid down unconscious Jin and Ashtel side by side on Floor 8 and sat down beside them to take a short rest.

Lia was the only one staring at the lower floor with a complicated look on her face.

Seeing her expression, Link shook his head and spoke in a calm tone.

"Don’t worry about him; nothing will happen to that guy. he will be able to hold on till we go to support him-"

Before Link could finish his words, Lia spoke in a complicated tone.

"He ascended to S-rank..."

Hearing those words from Lia’s mouth, both Link and Riya were shocked for a few seconds and took a while to react.

"What!? How come he reached S-rank all of a sudden? Wasn’t he still at peak A-rank just a while ago!? How do you even know about this!?"

At Link’s words of question, Lia only sighed and spoke in a calm tone.

"As you know I have the ability to see the future and sense things much deeper with my powers... I could already sense his aura from the lower floors when we were above..."

"I can’t sense others’ auras so accurately but if it’s him... I am very familiar with his aura... I sensed his aura getting denser and much powerful..."

Then Lia pointed at the ocean on the lower floor through the hole in the ground and spoke in a solemn tone,

"Moreover, I can sense the lingering sword intent in the ocean... it’s many times more powerful than it was before..."

"I have had close contact with his sword intent so I know its power very accurately..."

"The lingering remnants of the sword intent here are more violent and powerful here, which means he’s become stronger..."

Lia is the only person who knows so much about Rio; she’s even touched his sword intent with bare hands, as it’s not violent towards her.

Thus, she could easily notice the change in that already strong ’Sword Intent.’

"Fighting that demon prince must have given him the opportunity to improve... sigh, I need to do more training after I go back..."

Lia shook her head while thinking about all this.

Link was already feeling a major crisis after listening to Lia’s explanation.

"Ugh, I got left behind! It’s as if I have lost to him once again! Once I go back, I will train like hell!"

Riya, on the other hand, wasn’t much concerned about this matter and was only surprised for a while.

Her head was on Link’s lap as she was lying down on the floor. She had already exhausted most of her mana to save Jin and Ashtel.

"Even two SS-rankers couldn’t solve the problem...Why are we even here in the first place!"

Seeing Ashtel, the strongest of the human empire, in such an injured state has already dealt a massive blow to the spirit and courage of the three of them.

They know that if there is something that can injure Ashtel to this extent, then the three of them will be wiped out in an instant if they come across it.

He also wants to go down and support Rio, but he can’t leave right now.

Lia sighed in defeat and sat down on a nearby boulder in disappointment.

Seeing her like that, Link spoke in a calm tone.

"Well, he was already quite strong as a peak A ranker; now that he’s at S rank, there’s no need to worry about him; he can deal with most things on his own now..."

"Except for SS-rankers, there are barely anything in the world that can actually kill an S-ranker, so he will be fine..."

Before they could react, a massive magic circle appeared below their feet and instantly teleported all five of them out of the Spire of Ascension.

The next moment they found themselves sitting on barren ground far away from the tall tower-like building that was the spire of ascension.

"Wha-what happened just now!?"

"We got thrown out of that place!"

All three of them were dumbfounded by this sudden change; thankfully, Ashtel and Jin were also teleported with them, otherwise they would have to look for them again.

Before they could make any head or tail of this sudden change in the situation, several powerful auras appeared near them.

Link glanced towards the sky and noticed dozens of powerful and overwhelming beings in the sky.

"S-so many SS-rankers!?"

There was no mistaking it; all of them were SS-rankers without a doubt. Just by standing, they were all emitting insane pressure on everything around them.

Just as Link noticed them, they also noticed the sudden appearance of the five of them on the ground.

All of them immediately flew towards Link and the other in an instant.

Link was about to hide Riya behind him to protect her, but then he noticed a familiar person among those dozens of SS-rankers.

It was none other than the Elf King Ryul himself, and right beside him was Syvis, the Elf Queen.

The two of them came forward, and a look of sheer shock appeared on their faces the moment they noticed Ashtel in such a heavily injured state.

Ryul immediately teleported over to Ashtel side and a solemn expression appeared on his face.

"Wh-what’s going on!? How did this invincible and unbeatable guy get beaten so badly!?"

"Am I dreaming right now!?"

Even the other SS-rankers had a look of shock plastered on their faces, and many of them were even anxiously whispering to each other.

"I didn’t expect the situation to be this dangerous... Even someone like him got injured!?"

"I don’t feel okay today; I am going home..."

"Fool, if even someone like Ashtel got injured, do you think you can just go home and stay safe?"

"We all need to work together in a situation like this!"

Chaos erupted in an instant, and no one was willing to agree with each other; some wanted to retreat, while some wanted to unite everyone.

Syvis was the first one to come to her senses, as she immediately rushed over to heal both Jin and Ashtel.

After noticing that the two of them were in stable condition, she heaved a sigh of relief.

She glanced at Riya who was lying in Link’s arms and spoke in a gentle tone.

"Good job Riya, you stabilized the two of them on time; your healing capabilities have improved tremendously!"

"If not for you, I don’t think the two of them would have survived till now. in terms of pure healing, you are already nearly equal to an SS-rank healer now..."

Riya smiled after hearing that compliment from Syvis and fell asleep from exhaustion.

She was keeping herself awake forcefully up until now; she was trying to gather mana so that she could continue healing the two of them again.

But now that a genuine SS-rank healer is here, there is no need for her to worry anymore; as long as Syvis is here, there’s no way the two of them would die.

Link sighed heavily and sat down on the ground, keeping her in his arms.

With so many SS-rankers present, he doesn’t need to be on guard anymore; any one of them is enough to deal with most threats in the world.

Lia, on the other hand frowned and looked at Ryul before asking,

"There are so many SS-rankers here... why are you all not attacking together and get rid of that strange tower..."

"Rio is inside there; we need to go support him... with this many SS-rankers, surely we can help him-"

Before Lia could finish her words, Ryul sighed and spoke in a solemn tone.

"It’s not that we don’t want to go inside that strange tower... it’s that we can’t go in..."

"I have already tried it myself; that thing is rejecting anyone from entering it. even someone as strong as me isn’t able to forcefully enter it..."

"The space-time fabric around that tower has become chaotic to the extreme; just getting close will fatally injure a new SS-ranker..."

Ryul glanced at that distant building with a look of doubt on his face.

"It’s as if that thing is refusing to let us in... What the heck is that thing in the first place?"

"By the way, how did you lot get inside?"

Hearing that question, Lia replied immediately,

"We were directly teleported inside... I was in my room in the academy and the next moment I was inside that strange tower..."
