Chapter 786: You have to be born gifted!

While Rio and Link were busy chatting with each other about building houses for their wives, the topic of discussion in the women’s bath area was completely opposite.

"To be honest, I don’t know if marriage is really all that amazing..."

Hearing Miki’s words, Riya felt like she was hearing some kind of uncomprehensible knowledge that she just couldn’t understand at all.

"Errr... what do you mean by ’Relationship Drying up’... I don’t think my relationship with Link would ever dry up at all!"

Miki shook her head at those words, and explained,

"You are too innocent, Riya. You don’t know guys too well as of yet, as you are too distracted munching on candies..."

"All guys are the same; they are only enthusiastic about a woman until she’s not completely theirs..."

"They consider getting into a relationship like pursuing a job."

As if seeing that Riya couldn’t understand such complicated words, Miki explained in further detail,

"For example, you want to be an artist when you grow up but once you reach that goal, your excitement would fade away..."

"Men put all their efforts only at the start of the relationship; once they are sure that the women are completely theirs, they start to stop putting as much efforts..."

Although Miki’s words sounded smart and all, to Riya that just seemed like stupid gibberish!

"What?... but I and Link have been together for like... ten years or even more now... His efforts to maintain the relationship has only improved since back then I think..."

Miki couldn’t help but shrug her shoulders at those words.

"I mean, you two are a different topic; you are more like childhood friends that became lovers later on... that kind of relationship is extremely rare and can’t be predicted through normal standards..."

Lia, who was listening to Miki and Riya bicker about relationships, couldn’t help but shake her head.

’Riya, first of all, you shouldn’t be taking dating advice from someone who herself hasn’t even been in a relationship and can’t seem to find a man for herself!’

’Taking advice from her is stupid! Miki herself doesn’t know what love and relationships are all about at all!’

This was the reason why Lia didn’t like to follow those toxic social media platforms; all they did was just spread hate and increase trouble for everyone.

’To be honest, those online trends that those famous influencers run all the time in the name of women empowerment just for the sake of views seem laughable to me!’

In Lia’s opinion, if you really wanted to empower women, you would make better laws, reduce crimes, and educate children, both male and female, to be kinder to each other from the very beginning.

It is far more effective to make a campaign that would teach people to respect each other and work together than to play the blame game and toss blame at each other.

’Well, that’s just my opinion though... I consider myself lucky to have someone like Rio; maybe others can’t meet someone like him. That’s why they are so miserable...’

Finding good partners among awakeners was not easy at all.

Most awakeners have to fight their entire lives, and almost all of them carry some form of trauma from their past battles.

There’s also the risk of dying hanging above their heads all the time, and injuries were a common occurrence among their group.

Even with modern healing technologies and magical capabilities, some injuries like soul damage, consciousness-related damage, miasmic corruption-related injuries, curses, etc. were completely incurable.

For these kinds of injuries, you would either have to find an extremely rare healing item or would have to look for help from someone like Riya or Rio.

For most low-rank awakeners, these options were completely out of their reach; the risk of their families and relationships falling apart because of mental trauma or other injuries was quite high.

Despite being rich due to selling dungeon-related items, most awakeners struggled to find a suitable partner in life, and quite a few of them often ended up settling down with an ordinary person who wasn’t even an awakener at all!

Even Ashtel Rex’s wife was just an ordinary person; couples like Rio and Lia or Link and Riya were extremely rare among the awakeners.

Miki not being able to find a person for herself was likely because she would rather not hook up with anyone weaker than her, let alone consider an ordinary man.

’Talking about loyalty and love... I guess Kira was also quite a role model...’

Lia had no idea about the inner story of Kira deceiving Fade into becoming prey for Alverto, and from what Rio had told her, Kira and Fade were together until the very end even when the spire of ascension blew apart.

Lia and Kira once used to be best friends, but their friendship fell apart after Lia’s mother died and Lia became consumed with envy.

But now that Lia had no such worries like envy and hatred, she could finally acknowledge that Kira was originally a good person too; it’s just that the circumstances were not in her favor.
