Walking through the market, the duo made their way towards a secluded alley and entered a small tavern that seemed to be giving off a shady vibe.

Once inside the tavern, a frown appeared on Allen’s face as he noticed that the entire tavern was empty and devoid of life.

"That’s... odd. This is supposed to be the secret entrance to the underground meeting hall... but there’s no one here? That’s weird..."

Bela was just as confused as Allen as she muttered to herself,

"I don’t sense any lifeforce in the underground area either... could it be that we arrived before everyone else and the others have yet to reach this place?"

"But that doesn’t make any sense; at least the regular staff members should have been here all the time..."

Just when Allen and Bela were feeling confused, powerful spatial fluctuations appeared all around them.

"What!?"

A look of shock appeared on Bela’s face as she immediately realized that the entire island had suddenly become covered in spatial fluctuations and that some kind of forbidden magic was being utilized on the entire island!

The life force of the thousands of inhabitants of the entire island suddenly started to burn like a wildfire and pour into the gigantic crimson red magic circle that had appeared in the sky above the island out of nowhere!

The spacetime fabric warped, and miasma flooded the entire island with overwhelming force!

Allen and Bela immediately realized that they had both fallen in a well-planned trap, they had been deceived, there was no meeting of gods happening here, and it was all a trick to get them to let their guard down!

"Tch! We need to get out of here right now!"

There was no time to save the inhabitants of this island, as Allen could sense that all of them had their body and soul bound to the forbidden magic array, and it was very difficult to save them all.

Thus, without hesitation, Allen and Bela immediately flew upwards, broke through the ceiling of the tavern, and rushed towards the vast sea.

Unfortunately for them, the trap this time was made with thorough preparations.

The moment Allen and Bela tried to escape, the giant red magic circle in the sky lit up even more brightly, and the bodies of the hundreds of thousands of people connected to it burst apart into bloody mess.

The spirit realm was in essence a part of the world structure; every location in the main material universe had a corresponding place connected to it in the spirit realm.

The trap that brought Allen and Bela to the spirit realm used a similar principle but in reverse.

The powerful forbidden magic circle reversed the spatial rift direction and brought the miasma of the spirit realm into the main world in reverse by using the life force of the thousands of people in the area.
